If you took off the whole off white layer, that would be more minimalist. might work, might not. Very nice though! Love it!

Well, if you want to do what I do, just pretend that you're physically cutting up the picture into areas of similar color, then recolor them, and finally glue them all back together. How detailed you get is all up to you.
